A unique and exciting exhibition of contemporary art opens this week and is hosted by two Belfast Galleries. 'Things We Did and Didn't Do' is a joint exhibition between four Belfast and four Mexican artists, who have all made new work in response to the theme of Colonisation. Each artist has interpreted the theme through personal exploration of the culture of their given country and by widening the parameters of what colonization can mean. This exhibition has a truly international feel with the artists variously from Northern Ireland, Spain and Mexico. It is an opportunity to see innovative, thoughtful work in two locations in the city. John Matthews, Ima Pico ,Gareth Pyper and Gail Ritchie are all based in Queens St. Studios, Belfast and Anna Soler, Xaté Aguilar, Hernani Villasenor and René Serrano are associated with La Fabrica de Imagenes gallery in Morelia , Mexico.
